Hello Follower's, close friends, and just who ever stops by for a visit.....

Hello Friends,

I very seldom write on my BlogSpot.. but today is a different day, and here I am talking.

Do you ever get really disturbed when you know something is not right?

I read a little story one time about an Indian that had two dogs inside him,
one wanted to do what was right and the other wanted to do what was wrong, and it depended on
which one he fed that won out.

Well, I am not having trouble feeding the right dog, but many do.  So as you go about your day feed the good side of yourself.  You will feel so good about yourself.

Your friend,
Katheryn

Vesper Doily

Our group CAL for July we are doing the Vesper doily.  It is a very small doily, and easy to make in one sitting if you are a very fast crocheter.   I made mine with Cameo color size 10 thread I bought at Hobby Lobby.  Here is the link to the pattern.  Hope you find time to join us and make it.
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vesper-doily

The only part of the pattern I changed was the border.  I sc in the chain sts instead of over the ch sts.  I think if you make the doily, and try both ways you will see that it is much nicer finished off in the chain sts. JMO

Grandson's Christmas Afghan Finished

Sharing with you what I have been working on for the last few month's.

I saw an afghan on the front cover of the little Bernat pattern booklet I get in the mail, and thought I do believe I could make my DGS a twin size blanket for his bed.

What looks Brown is actually a Grey color.  Don't know why it turned out to look Brown.

One of my friends her Son-in-law works on a River Boat, and I told her it would be so cute to make one for her grandson with Boats on it since it is ripple.

I did not have a pattern in full detail as how to make the afghan, so I just selected a Ripple Afghan, and did a search for some little vehicle's.

I could only find a car, truck, and fire truck.  Only 3 on this afghan are from free patterns and I made up the rest of them myself.

There is a tractor on the 2nd row from the top which I will share a picture of it here too.  I was kind'a proud of myself for making it up without a pattern, and the rest of the vehicle's too.  Hope you enjoy viewing my creating, yet not my original idea for the afghan.

Five Hour Doily

Hello from South East Missouri again.
This little doily is called a 5 hr. doily and it is
designed by Della Bieber.  You can find the
pattern here:

This little doily I made with Bernat Handicrafter thread size 5 crochet thread
and size 5 boye hook.  The true color isn't showing in this pic. the color is
Linen, and a very pretty color.

Our group Moderator hosted this CAL, and I made this with my group as our June CAL.  I will be hosting a July CAL
in my group using a small doily that won't take long to make.

Important to joining my craft group.

I've had a few to request to join my group although they did not
send back the questionnaire they received when they clicked
to join.

My group is private and I want to keep my group as
safe as I possibly can, and I do think that most
people appreciate this.

I do not approve anyone that does not return the questionnaire.
I give you ample time to return the questionnaire, and even in
some circumstances write the pending member to see if they
received the questionnaire, and if they do not respond in a
couple days I assume they are not going to reply, and I then
reject their request to join my group.

Hope this helps anyone that has tried in the past to join my group, by way of this blog, and was
not approved to know the reason why.

Have a nice day!
Katheryn/ group mom at Thread'n'Stitches  Yahoo group.

Snowflakes I've made this year to date..........

Some of these are ones I've designed since last August, and others are snowflakes from the web.
I do love making snowflakes, and they are just gorgeous hanging on the branches of the tree.

Enjoy!

Tuesday Good Morning April 30, 2014

Hello visitor's,

Hope all are doing well today.  Temp. here is very cool in South East Missouri.  Sure wish we could
get some stable temp.'s.

Our garden is growing really good in spite of the constant changing in temperature.  Our grand daughter came in from school yesterday with some packages of seeds her teacher gave her to plant, so grandpa will be making her a special spot in the garden to let her grow her seeds.

I finished two more PK doilies, and will be sharing a picture of both.  Love her designs.  I am also
still working on my DGS's afghan.  I am hoping to have it finished by Christmas.  I am anxious to get the cars and trucks appliqued on it.  Not sure just how I will design it up with different things.  I have some idea's, but time will be either on my side, or not in adding what I want to the afghan.

I will hopefully get a May 2014 snowflake made some time soon for those of you that are enjoying making them.  I love to make other people's designs, as well as trying to design my own to share.

Our daughter in law had her gallbladder removed Monday, so I've been trying to see to her.  She is doing really good though.

Thank you everyone that comes and visit's my blog, and makes my snowflakes.  You are welcome to leave me a comment.  I love hearing from you that come visit.

Try to stay safe during all the bad weather that is sweeping the states.  There is a lot of flooding in area's around here.  We are high, so no problem for us, but others are not fairing so well.

Your friend,
Katheryn

STITCH MARKERS

I've been making stitch markers.  We have a $ jewelry store, and I stopped in today, and bought some ear rings.  I removed the ear piece and put rings, and closures on them to make stitch markers for my
crochet.  I love the flip flop, bicycles, combs, cameo's, and flowers.  The rest of them are made from
charms I bought at Wal-Mart.  I have one more stitch marker I didn't show.  I now have 32, and I think that will be enough to use on any project.

Just though I'd share with you what I've been doing.

My First Symbol Doily What you think?

Hello Friends,
Sharing with you my first Symbol doily.  Just in time for Valentine Day.  I did not know if I could do this on my own, or not, so I just grabbed a ball of white, and started trying to figure out the pattern. To my amazement it was rather simple to do.  Lot less fuss than reading the written directions.  I have several of those old Magic, and Decorative magazines I can hardly wait to choose a design.   You can get this patter here:
http://www.makeitcoats.com/en-gb/discover/crochet/patterns-designs/floral-table-mat
It is in two sizes.  I choose the small size which to my amazement again wasn't that small at all.  I am not a fast crafter, but I do have a cotton dishcloth on my needles, and will show you when I get it made.
Have a great day, stay safe, and warm.
Hugs,
Katheryn
